Demeter is the goddess of corn, grain, and the harvest. She is the daughter of Cronus and Rhea. It is Demeter that makes the crops grow each year. Her daughter Persephone was abducted by Hades to be his wife in the underworld. Zeus and Demeter sought her return but because she had eaten while in the underworld Hades had a claim on her. Therefore, it was decreed that Persephone would spend four months of each year in the underworld and the rest with Demeter.
Thank you... I almost wasn't going to post it because I wasn't too happy with it but someone once said to me that because of everyone's individual tastes, something that I may not like... someone else might. So I'm glad you proved that person right... Thank you for the fave
